Captain Scarlet and Captain Brown are sent to protect the World President from an assassination by The Mysterons. However, on the way, the Mysterons interfere with the controls and their car crashes, killing both men instantly. They are both reconstructed and complete the security arrangements and the rendezvous. While Scarlet reports to Colonel White back at Cloudbase, Brown is given the assignment of escorting the President in New York.

Later, Captain Brown escorts the President to a Maximum Security Building, but no-one knows he is in fact a Mysteron duplicate. He turns into a bomb and blows the building up, seemingly killing the guards and the World President.

But it turns out that the World President survived through a secret compartment, and Colonel White reviews the recorded footage with Scarlet and the President. Colonel White is horrified by the situation as Brown had been one of his finest men.

Colonel White then instructs Captain Scarlet to escort the President to a new Maximum Security Building in London. Scarlet then takes the President in an SPJ. However just after they leave, Spectrum becomes aware that Scarlet is under Mysteron control and orders him to return to Cloudbase but Scarlet ignores it, and injures the President when he tries to call Spectrum. Destiny Angel fakes an attack on the plane, and the two eject.
They land and hijack a car, and then proceed to drive to London. Captain Blue is sent down to intercept, and Captain Scarlet is diverted to the London Car-Vu. Their only way is now up the 800 foot structure. Captain Blue is fast behind them in an SPV. Soon, they are both trapped on the top of the structure. Scarlet holds the President at gun-point, and takes him to a metal structure supporting a satellite dish. Blue gets a jetpack and begins an attack on Scarlet, and Scarlet fights back. Blue calls in Helicopter A42, but the Mysterons have taken over the helicopter, and it attacks against Blue. Destiny Angel shoots down the helicopter after making the connection and it crashes into support structure of the Car-Vu and explodes which causes it to start collapsing. Blue asks Scarlet to give himself up, but he refuses and after a long gun battle, Scarlet is hit and falls 800 feet to the ground below. Blue rescues the President just in the nick of time before the Car-Vu collapses and is destroyed.
Later Scarlet's body is recovered and his injuries have healed without a trace. He is no longer under Mysteron control and has now gain the ability of retrometabolism, making him Spectrum's number one agent in the fight against the Mysterons.
Captain Scarlet takes off with the World President in the SPJ, heading for London
After Spectrum finds out about his Mysteron control, he is ordered to return to Cloudbase, but Captain Scarlet ignores them.
When the President tries to call for help, he knocks him out
When the angels send a dummy attack at the SPJ, Captain Scarlet ejects
After landing, Captain Scarlet forces the President at gunpoint to a white saloon car and they continue their journey.
Hoping to trap Captain Scarlet, the Angels destroy the viaduct on the London road giving the Mysteron agent no other choice but to take the route to the London Car-Vu
Sure enough Captain Scarlet now has only one route to take
Captain Scarlet is now driving towards the London Car-Vu
The Car-Vu is now in sight
Captain Scarlet then drives straight through the barrier and enters
Captain Scarlet then drives up the long spiral ramp
After arriving at the top and receiving some instructions from Captain Black, Captain Scarlet then forces the President to climb on a girder structure on the side of the skypark
and holds him at gunpoint while they wait for Spectrum Helicopter A42 that is under Mysteron control to pick them up
Captain Scarlet's fellow officer and friend Captain Blue had followed them and was now attempting to save the President

And so does Captain Scarlet
With no other choice, the Angels are forced to shoot down their own helicopter
The damaged helicopter then collides with the structure of the Car-Vu, severely damaging it
Knowing the entire skypark would eventually fall, Captain Blue asks Captain Scarlet to surrender, but the Mysteron agent only fires shots him
"Okay Captain Scarlet. It's either gonna be you or me."
The two officers fire their guns back and forth until one of Captain Blue's bullets catches Captain Scarlet in the chest
Captain Scarlet then loses his balance and falls from the Car-Vu
Plummeting 800 feet towards the ground below

Just before the entire skypark collapses
Captain Scarlet's mysteronised body is then taken back to Cloudbase
Captain Scarlet then fully recovers in the sick bay. He is no longer under Mysteron control and has now retained the ability of retro-metabolism, making him virtually indestructible.
