Re Captain Scarlet Wiki Invitation!
Hello there! :-)
I've just seen your message, and am flattered by your invitation to help out on the Captain Scarlet Wiki page(s). I'm always happy to be of assistance with proofreading and related tasks, if called upon. However, as the series never came to my area of the States (as the Big Four - Supercar, XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds - did), back in the day, I'd be at a disadvantage re adding content!
Pls advise, if this is otherwise acceptable. Perhaps you might have a CS page in mind that I could do a "trial run" with?
Re Captain Scarlet Series Title...
This comes, first, to say Thank You for your positive reception to my contributions so far to the Captain Scarlet Wiki pages. I'm starting to find my way about, and each time I think I'm getting better at it! :-)
Now - there seems to be some back-and-forthing going on, re whether series title should read CS And The M or CS and the M. For myself, I think the lower-case rendering looks better. Could we perhaps have some sort of official Word From On High on this matter, pls? This ought to save everybody time and bother over "pulling out one another's stitching" on the subject...
A History Puzzle...
Got a question for you, re the Captain Scarlet episode Inferno, which I've jut did a bit of work on. The page mentions the Mysterons' latest intended target being located in the Andes Mountains, and a picture of a structure referred to as an Aztec temple is also shown.
Here's my puzzlement: if my recollection of Western Hemisphere history isn't too rusty, prior to the arrival of the European conquistadors (Cortes, et al), the Aztec civilization never stretched as far south as the Andes; it was centered mainly in Mexico and parts of Central America. Other native cultures, notably those of the Inca peoples, stretched along much of the Andes range in South America!
Notwithstanding any clarification provided in the episode's dialogue - and conceding that the series isn't necessarily meant as an accurate history lesson! - I'm wondering whether a brief mention of this disparity might appear in a Notes or Trivia section. Anyone from my part of the world is apt to pick up on this, much as I did. Pls advise...
Yipes - Stripes!
Just saw your updates to the Tracy brothers' GAE pages. I do like the idea of the color-stripes (matching their sashes, of course!); however, it's a bit problematic with Virgil's page. The white lettering, against that canary-yellow background, is all but unreadable. Would respectfully suggest black lettering, or other comparable alternative, instead...
Hoping you are keeping well! :-)
Re Trapped In The Sky...
Thanks for your comments re my recent edit on Trapped In The Sky. I'm following the same basic pattern I used on the Supercar ep pages and continued into those for Captain Scarlet; so far, so good, I think!
Got a question for you, though, re the template. I'd be happy to include it on the other Thunderbirds ep pages; might there be some way of copy/pasting it from the Trapped page into the others? Suggestions welcome! :-)
